After graduating with a BA in literature from Oxford University and an MBA in international business from Stanford University, Beckett King embarked on a career that spanned tech entrepreneurship and venture capital investment while mentoring startups in San Francisco. Driven by a passion to merge technology with sustainable urban development, he took up residence at MIT to pursue a PhD in environmental science under the guidance of renowned ecologist Jane Goodall.
In 2019, Dr. King accepted a position as an assistant professor of Environmental Innovation and Technology at New York University, where he focused on projects aimed at enhancing green technologies and sustainable practices. By 2023, his innovative approaches had earned him recognition, leading to an exciting opportunity to join the faculty at Berlin's Humboldt University. There, Beckett continues to inspire students and colleagues with his forward-thinking vision for a sustainable future.
